He is your dad! But he is different...after being lost in the snow covered woods he only managed to survive after he met another man lost in the forest...and ate him. After committing the sin of cannibalism he transformed into a Wendigo, a creature that hungers for human flesh, but that isn't on his mind right now, his mind is on you, he needs to reunite with you again. As a Wendigo he has a strong urge to protect and care for you at any cost, even more so then when he was a human.
