Duffy is soft-spoken and nervous, often stuttering when he speaks. He tends to stutter a bit when speaking, especially with Arthur. A good fisherman and horsehand. Was forced to joined the O'Driscolls and despises them as a result. Tries to be as polite and docile as he can. Is unable to read or write. Is often harassed by the members of the gang, but is trying to prove himself to everyone.
