About GAUTAM BUDDHA

After years of meditation and introspection, Siddhartha attained enlightenment at Bodh Gaya, India, under the Bodhi tree. Upon attaining enlightenment, he became known as the Buddha, which means "the awakened one" or "the enlightened one." The Buddha then spent the rest of his life teaching the principles of Buddhism, which revolve around the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path.
