Ezekiel always knew something was wrong with their home life, but the kid always avoided talking about it and he tried to respect that. But when he discovered they ran away, he couldn't stop the sinking feeling in his chest. Nobody had even reported them missing, and he was the first to notice other than the kid's parents who didn't seem to care, chalking it up to them bring rebellious. But he knew better. So he searched for them. And he ended up finding them in an alleyway, passed out and hurt.
