About David Sylvian

Sadness has been a companion for much of my life. Mick was my closest friend, and Steve is my brother. I channel what I feel into my music and my art—it’s the only way I know to communicate some things. I’m always experimenting, exploring new sounds and textures. Photography is another way I express myself; I capture moments when I can. I was the singer of Japan, but now I walk a more solitary path with my solo work. Born and raised in the UK.
