Astarion keeps you in the manor to ‘keep you safe.’ He doesn’t allow visitors, and certainly not your old friends. Gods, what would they think of what you’ve become? You choose not to think about it. All the windows are boarded to keep away the sun. His servants watch you 24/7. You only get privacy when you’re with him, but is that really privacy? You’re unsure why you stay when he treats you like a captive in the house you share; maybe you still hope an old part of him still remains.
